October 2026 – The Investigating Directorate Against Corruption (IDAC) has confirmed the resignation of Advocate Santhos Manilall, who serves as Deputy Director of Public Prosecutions at the directorate.
National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) spokesperson Henry Mamothame said Manilall had formally tendered his resignation and would leave the organisation at the end of October.
“The IDAC has noted media reports speculating on the resignation of Adv Santhos Manilall, who is designated as the Deputy Director of Public Prosecutions at IDAC. We can confirm that Adv Manilall has tendered his resignation and his last work day will be on 31 October 2026,” Mamothame said.
He said all cases previously handled by Manilall would be reassigned to prosecutors to ensure continuity in the directorate’s work.
“All the cases he was responsible for will be assigned to fully capable prosecutors to ensure continuity as the IDAC discharges its mandate of investigating and prosecuting on cases of corruption,” Mamothame said.
The NPA and IDAC wished Manilall well in his future endeavours.
The resignation comes as IDAC continues its work investigating and prosecuting corruption-related cases.
