Taung murder case postponed

BY OBAKENG MAJE
A case against a murder accused was postponed by Taung Magistrates Court on Monday.

Katlego Andries Gositamang briefly appeared at Taung Magistrates Court after he allegedly stabbed Moatlhodiemang Seleke(40) to death during a fight over sorghum beer in Molelema village, in Taung.

According to information, two men were allegedly drinking a sorghum beer at a local shebeen two weeks ago when they decided to refill their calabash after their beer got finished.

It is alleged that Gositamang gave Seleke R2 to go and refill, but Seleke decided to take a ‘wrong turn’.

Seleke allegedly fled the scene with Gositamang’s R2 and that did not sink well with Gositamang, who in turn asked help from his knees to chase him.

He allegedly cornered him, drew a knife and stabbed him in the chest.

Seleke was rushed to local clinic, but he was confirmed dead on his arrival.

The suspect was subsequently arrested and charged for murder.

The case was postponed until 08 June 2015 for bail application.
