^{12 October 2026 – The police have arrested a suspect who was allegedly found in possession of an item belonging to runner Elizabeth Tsontso Moselakgomo. The suspect is expected to appear before the Kempton Park Magistrate’s Court on 12 October 2026, and is likely to face a charge of possession of stolen property.}

^{The national police spokesperson, Brigadier Athlenda Mathe confirmed the arrest, stating that no murder charge had been brought against the suspect at this stage. Mathe said investigations are ongoing.}

^{“The police have not disclosed further details about the item recovered or the circumstances surrounding the suspect’s arrest,” she said.}
