2 November 2026 – The National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) said it is ready to commence trial proceedings against the two accused in the murder of media personality, Warrick Stock, who was popularly known as DJ Warras before the Gauteng High Court sitting in Johannesburg. The NPA said pre-trial proceedings have been concluded and both accused, Hlengiwe Buthelezi (40) and Victor Mthethwa Majola (44), have secured legal representation.

The NPA regional spokesperson in Gauteng, Magaboke Mohlatlole said the matter has been postponed to 22 February 2027, for the commencement of the trial. Mohlatlole said Buthelezi and Majola face charges of premeditated murder and conspiracy to commit murder in connection with the killing of Stock.

“The charges arise from an incident on 16 December 2025, when Stock was allegedly shot and killed outside the Zambesi Building in the Johannesburg Central Business District (CBD). A third accused in the matter, Armando Pacula, entered into a plea and sentence agreement in terms of Section 105A of the Criminal Procedure Act.

“He was subsequently convicted and sentenced to 25 years imprisonment. The NPA is ready to proceed with the prosecution and remains committed to ensuring that the matter is brought to finality through the criminal justice process,” he said.
