Pauw to lead Banyana Banyana for the first time

Newly appointed SASOL Banyana Banyana head coach, Vera Pauw will lead the Senior Women’s National Team for the first time since her appointment last month.

Banyana Banyana will take on neighbours Zimbabwe in an international friendly match on Saturday, 12 April 2014 at Dobsonville Stadium in Soweto. Kickoff is at 12h30.

The encounter will be used to prepare for the CAF African Women’s Championship qualifier against Comoros towards the end of May.

The last time Banyana Banyana faced Zimbabwe in an international friendly was in June last year at Sinaba Stadium in Daveyton. The match ended 1-1.

“I am very happy that we have been able to secure an international friendly match against Zimbabwe as this will be the start of our journey to the African Women’s Championship as well as Canada 2015. I look forward to leading the team for the first time infront of the home supporters and I urge everyone in Soweto to come out in numbers to support the team,” said Head Coach Vera Pauw.
