The family of Palesa Maruping (29) in Khuma Township in Stilfontein said her death left a void in their hearts. Maruping was found hanged in the bedroom of a rented house that she was sharing with her boyfriend last week.

Family spokesperson, William Molapo said Palesa’s death was horrific and urged community members to work together with the law  enforcement agencies and other stakeholders to combat the scourge of Gender-Based Violence (GBV).

“it is hard to believe that she was killed in such a gruesome manner. Just bear in mind that it is Women’s month and it is not the first time we have experienced this kind of atrocity in Khuma.  

“For the past four years, we have been experiencing this kind of incident, but we never thought it would happen to our family. We are having sleepless nights after experiencing this and no one deserves to be killed in this inhumane manner,” he said.

Molapo applauded the police for their swift arrest of the suspects. According to the North West police spokesperson, Capt Aafje Botman, two suspects were arrested after being linked to Palesa’s death.  

“Tebogo Mokgomo (45) and Matevane Mokatsanyane (42) appeared before the Stilfontein Magistrate’s Court on a charge of murder. They will remain in custody until their next court appearance on 30 August 2021 for a formal bail application.

“With cooperation of members of the community, police questioned Mokatsanyane who is the owner of the house where the victim stayed and Mokgomo who is the victim’s boyfriend. It was consequently established that the pair allegedly stole the victim’s two cellphones and locked her inside the house.

“They allegedly came back later and hanged her. The accused were arrested and charged with murder,” Botma said.

The North West Police Commissioner, Lieutenant General Sello Kwena condemned the incident and pointed that no stone will be left unturned in ensuring that the accused are convicted.

Meanwhile, the South African National Civic Organisation (SANCO) in the North West welcomed the arrest of the suspects. SANCO provincial chairperson, Paul Sebegoe said: “The tip-off by community members has greatly assisted police investigation into the despicable act and contents strongly with SANCO’s view that there is no place in our society for perpetrators of such atrocious and heinous crimes against women who happen to be the most vulnerable in our communities.

“It is when there is united action and a strong partnership with crime prevention structures and law enforcement that the fight against GBV and femicide will be won. women like Maruping are lured into abusive dead-end relationships by heartless monsters who are perverts and weaklings that seek to entrench control and male domination through violence.”

Sebegoe said the criminal justice system must show intolerance to such horrific acts by issuing harshest sentences possible to serve as a deterrent.

It is not raining but pouring for the disgraced former North West Public Works and Roads’ head of department, Pakiso Mothupi. This comes after the Special Investigating Unit (SIU) has been granted a preservation order by the Special Tribunal to freeze Mothupi’s pension benefits of over R3.4 million pending the institution of an action against him.

SIU spokesperson, Kaizer Kganyago said: “The ongoing investigations revealed that, while working as the HOD, Mothupi committed the department into unlawful contracts with private entities.

“He authorised payments to Ayamah Consulting Engineers (Pty) Ltd in circumstances, where there were no services rendered to justify the payment, resulting in financial losses of R 166 290 625, 77.”

He further said the SIU intends to launch an action in the Tribunal within 30 days to recover the amount. Kganyago added that the beleaguered Mothupi was dismissed on 4 June 2021.

According to Kganyago, on 7 November 2016, Mothupi wrote to Mbombela requesting

to participate in the contract between the municipality and Ayamah. He said after Mothupi sent the letter to Mbombela, the Department’s Bid Adjudication Committee

(BAC) met on 9 November 2016 to consider and recommend the participation.

“However, the BAC’s recommendation was not for participation in a contract for water and sanitation services but for roads. The recommendation was followed by the appointment of Ayamah embodied in a letter signed by Mothupi dated 11 November 2016.

“Curiously, on 18 November 2016, the Chief Directorate Transport Infrastructure prepared a

submission seeking approval for the appointment of an external program managers to

assist the department to achieve its goals,” said Kganyago.

He said unlike the contract with Mbombela, the appointment in the North West was for roads and management services. Kganyago said the Mbombela contract commenced in July 2014 and was terminated in July 2017, while the SLA with the department commenced in November 2016 and was terminated in May 2018.

“This had the effect of extending a contract that was coming to an end through an effluxion of time. The department agreed to pay a once-off set–up fee (equal to 10% of the annual fee) for the establishment of Ayamah’s offices in North West, together with relocation and

infrastructure costs,” he said.

Kganyago said part of the responsibilities assigned to Ayamah included the provision

of support to the department in procurement of professional services and contractors, but the SLA was allegedly riddled with a host of irregularities.

“There was no competitive bidding process followed and the department failed to consider locally based companies, resulting in set-up costs that are believed to be in excess of the actual costs.

“The set-up costs were not included in the participation request or letter of appointment.

Even though the investigation is ongoing, the SIU claims that the department incurred

fruitless and wasteful expenditure because Mothupi deliberately went out of his way to

violate the law and unlawfully appointed Ayamah,” said Kganyago.

In March 2017, the department made pre-payments of R103m to Ayamah in two tranches of R 8 540 587 and R 94 495 413 in the extension to the rehabilitating the flood-damaged road infrastructure.

Dryharts-born beauty pageant, Akanyang Kalamore said, she is happy to be back and does what she loves the most. Kalamore (26) is one of the top ten Miss Heritage North West 2021 finalists and she is adamant that she will win the title come October.   

“I am happy to be back in the fold after taking some time off from modelling. I regard myself as a phenomenal woman who has gain confidence and came out remarkably well out of all challenges I came across.

“I took some time off modelling after having a baby. However, I believe that I still have what it takes to continue with my modelling career. I saw a pamphlet that says there was a Miss Heritage North West 2021 competition and I entered. Now, here I am in the top ten,” she said.

Kalamore said modelling is not all about wearing a tiara or hold a title, but it comes with responsibilities. She said there are many challenges that are facing women and children that need to be addressed.

“We have many factors that affect women and children in our society. Many women are still subjected to patriarchy, inequality and mostly continue to rely heavily on their male counterparts for survival.

“On the other side, many girls and women suffer in silence after being abused either physically, sexually and emotionally. So, it is our responsibility as beauty pageants to bring back that confidence and address those challenges head-on. For example, we are celebrating women’s month, but many women continue to be victims of Gender-Based Violence (GBV),” she said.

Kalamore who is now based in Vryburg embarked on charitable work in partnership with Amogelang Insurance Brokers recently. She said this was part of her social responsibility per competition requirements.

“I was given a task as a Top 10 finalist to do charity work. I was so grateful after Amogelang Insurance Brokers came on board without any hesitations. I thought of going to schools and give out sanitary pads to needy female learners, however, I knew that almost every contestant will think of that.

“So, I came up with a different approach by initiating feeding street survivors. Many street survivors are going through a lot, but it seems no one care,” said Kalamore.

She also encouraged young aspiring models to be responsible at all times. Kalamore who was inspired by Boingotlo Magabe to take her model career seriously said, “Now, only the sky is the limit” for her.

“Even though I have not found my niche in the modelling space yet, but I still believe that my time will come. I would be so grateful if one day I see myself on one of those billboards across the country and beyond,” she said.

Meanwhile, the founder of Miss Heritage North West, Onalenna Kole said: “The competition targets to empower, inspire and encourage young females with the objective of achieving their goals.

“They should be good examples and create role models for an upcoming generation while providing glamour, entertainment through high motivation. I also want to achieve taking the girl child out of the street and restore most of their self-confidence and implement self-belief in them.

“I want to encourage young women to remember that unity and humanity are the only priceless gifts one can ever share with one another.”

Dear Fellow South African,

Today, I want to speak to the young people of South Africa. Young people are turning out in impressive numbers to get the COVID-19 vaccine. This fills me with great pride. Over half a million South Africans enrolled on the day that registration for over 18s opened.

The young people of our country are giving us all hope that an end to this time of hardship is within our sights.

As I watched young people being interviewed while queueing at vaccination centres I was impressed by their enthusiasm and excitement. Most of all I was impressed by their knowledge about the vaccine, how it can protect, and why it is necessary.

I heard young men and women speaking of the need to protect those at risk in their communities. I read a post online by a young person urging those who follow her on social media to take heed of the early days of the HIV/Aids pandemic, when young people died unnecessarily because they believed false stories that were then circulating that antiretroviral medication was deadly, or because they disregarded advice to practice safe sex.

The maturity that young people have brought to the important task of vaccinating as many South Africans as possible calls to mind the words of Frantz Fanon, that it is to each generation to discover its mission and fulfil it.

In 1994, millions of South Africans stood in queues to fulfil the mission of liberation. Many young people stood in those long queues to cast their vote for the first time.

Today it is the turn of the new generation of young people.

Today’s young people are being called upon to step up and be at the forefront in this defining moment in the life of our nation.

Last week, we passed the milestone of 10 million vaccine doses administered. Nearly 5 million people are fully vaccinated, which means they have received one dose of the J&J vaccine or two doses of the Pfizer vaccine. But we still have a long way to go.

This is where young people come in. We are calling on them to go out and get vaccinated so that we reach our goal.

I was not surprised to see young people taking to this task with such determination. Since the pandemic broke out 17 months ago, young South Africans have been an integral part of the national effort to battle the coronavirus.

We have seen the youth step up to keep themselves and others safe. We have seen
youth formations and community organisations, young leaders, influencers and content creators using their platforms to share public health messages with their peers.

Young people have been brave and forthright when they have seen the friends or popular personalities violating the regulations at parties, grooves and gatherings. They have called them out.

We have seen how young people have been helping with the national vaccination drive, even when they were not yet eligible themselves.

We are proud of the young volunteers in our communities, like those from #GrandkidsforGogos who assisted the elderly with vaccination registration at social grant pay-points. One young volunteer was asked what motivated her and she said: “I am where I am because of the elderly.”

I hear such powerful words from young people often. Despite the hardship caused by the pandemic, they are still optimistic, and they still want to be of service to our country. By getting vaccinated they aren’t just protecting themselves, but also those around them.

There is still a lot of shady content being circulated out there about the vaccine. These conspiracy theories are far-fetched, and I am calling on young people once again to not circulate them.

These messages are harmful, and are making people hesitant to get vaccinated. This is not only harmful to young people, but many others, including people at risk who really need the vaccine.

Young people are digital natives. They are more tech savvy than any generation that came before them. It is important that they help to spread the correct information around vaccines provided by the Department of Health and World Health Organisation.

We would like to see young people becoming walking adverts for the vaccination process. We appeal to young people to post pictures of themselves getting vaccinated.

These vaccines are safe. They work. They don’t affect anybody’s performance in any way. Most importantly, they save lives.

Young people have always been the drivers of progress, innovation and change.

You are determined to build a better, brighter future. We must emerge from this health crisis so we can recover and rebuild.

I want to give a shout out to those who have got their jab.

I also want to thank all the youth organisations, leaders and influencers for their efforts to encourage young people to get vaccinated, and call on them to continue with this work.

Your time is now. Go and get your jab. This is your mission and your chance to fulfil it.

Gloves are off between the outgoing North West Premier, Prof Job Mokgoro and the ANC Interim Provincial Committee (IPC). It is alleged that the fight was flickered by the ANC IPC coordinator, Hlomani Chauke who ‘prematurely’ announced the ANC veteran, Bushy Maape as Mokgoro’s possible replacement on Tuesday.     

Mokgoro was agitated by Chauke’s utterances during the media briefing, where he said Mokgoro did not toe the party line.

Defiant Mokgoro was supposed to resign as the North West Premier and also as the Member of the Legislature (MPL) to make space for the Premier-elect, Maape to be sworn-in before resuming his duties.  

Now, Mokgoro allegedly want Chauke to apologise before he could resign as he feels that his reputation was tarnished. He was also engaged in a telephonic conversation with the ANC Deputy Secretary-General, Jessie Duarte who tried to convinced him to resign to allow smooth transition.

However, it is alleged that the meeting between the two was futile as unshakeable Mokgoro firmly stood his ground.

When contacted for his comment regarding the meeting with Duarte, Mokgoro who was spitting fire said: “Why do not you go to the people who have been running all over the place and saying all kind of filthy things about me? Just go to the ANC, go to the person whose been saying all the nonsense and ask them why are they doing the things that they are doing. No, I do not discuss ANC matters in public.”

However, Chauke said he will not apologise to Mokgoro because he has not done anything wrong.

“I’m not going to apologise because there is nothing wrong that I have done. If he says that I must apologise to him, tell him that I’m not going to apologise. I communicated the decision of the organisation.

“I’m not going to engage into organisational matters as we are dealing with them internally. So, I’m not going to comment for now until we have dealt with them internally,” he said.

The ANC IPC has suspended Mokgoro’s membership after accusing him of creating ‘rogue unit’ in his office and defying the party’s mandate by voting with the opposition parties at the North West provincial Legislature (NWPL).

Meanwhile, the Democratic Alliance (DA) Chief Whip in the North West Provincial Legislature, Freddy Sonakile said: “The DA is not convinced that replacing Mokgoro with his former advisor will serve the interests of the people of this province. It is indeed shocking that Mokgoro’s poor performance under Mr Maape’s guidance is suddenly forgotten to the extent of being rewarded with the province’s top position. 

“Nonetheless, Mokgoro is yet to tender his resignation in the legislature. So, as things stand, no guarantee that Maape will be the successful candidate to serve as Premier. The nomination of Mr Maape as the ANC’s Premier candidate is nothing but a factional battle playing out in an attempt for one faction to gain dominance over another.”

EFF MPL, Lebogang Xaba said as the party, they were not surprised by ANC IPC to choose Maape as Mokgoro’s replacement. Xaba said the ANC has taken electorates and the people of the North West for a ride.

“Remember when they ousted the former North West Premier, Supra Mahumapelo saying that there is no stability and service delivery and put in Mokgoro as his replacement? Now, they say Mokgoro is useless and bring in another old man, Bushy Maape.

“So, you cannot see any difference because nothing is happening there. We only feel sorry for the voters because they have been taken for a ride. They will change Maape and replace him with another person. They removed Mokgoro because he could not give them tenders, now they bring in big guns,” he said.

Teaching and learning were affected at Seabo High School in Kokomeng village near Taung after more than 20 learners tested positive for COVID-19 last week. Some of the parents raised concerns and questioned whether the school complies with safety measures in dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic.

One parent who refused to be named for fear of reprisal said: “We are concerned after many learners tested positive for COVID-19. We are not sure that in the context of COVID-19, a number of safety preconditions are applied. How can we be so sure about the safety of our learners while COVID-19 ravages them like this?

“We urge the school to come up with a recovery plan because teaching and learning were affected. Many learners are currently in quarantine especially those who are doing Grade 12,” she said.

In a letter that was sent to parents by the school management, the principal, Michael Lamola urged learners who tested negative for COVID-19 to come to school after allegations that many learners now refuse to go back to school in fear of being infected.

Lamola said in a letter sent to the parents or guardians that teaching and learning will continue as normal from 17 August 2021 after the classrooms were fumigated on 14 August 2021.

“We believe that it is safer now for learners to go back to classrooms and resume teaching and learning. The school management also urges learners who are still waiting for their results, to stay at home until they get them,” he said.

The North West Department of Education spokesperson, Elias Malindi said he cannot confirm nor deny whether learners got infected with COVID-19 while at the school premises or otherwise.  

“We might not be aware of what caused the infections. They either got it at home or otherwise. For now, the school continues to receive results, and learners who tested positive up to so far are Grade 12 (11), Grade 11 (17 and 16 have submitted the letters with one new case).

“A Grade 10 learner was also infected including the scholar bus driver. The school has 30 confirmed COVID-19 cases thus far and it has been fumigated. So, teachers have drafted their recovery plans to assist the learners,” he said.

Meanwhile, the North West MEC for Health department, Madoda Sambatha acknowledged a provincial milestone of passing the 500 000 COVID-19 vaccines administered to date across the province’s four districts.

“As a province, we are proud to see the positive progress we are making in our battle against the COVID-19 pandemic. As such our attainment of 509 290 vaccines administered is no small feat. This points to the hard work and dedication of our frontline staff to ensure that our communities receive this vital protection against the virus.

“North West has been on the top three provinces who have been experiencing the surge in third-wave infections therefore all efforts are needed to ensure that the registration and vaccination programmes are accelerated,” Sambatha said.

He further said they need to remind and urge communities to take full advantage of the current arrangement of walk-ins at various vaccination sites to receive these important jabs.

The province has to date registered 137 039 positive COVID-19 cases, with 116 920 people having recovered which translates to an 85,3% recovery rate.

The criminal case has been initiated against the former Director-General of the North West Provincial Government (NWPG). This comes after the North West Provincial Government failed to recover the financial misconduct amounting to R75 889 349.70. 

According to the Portfolio Committee on Public Service and Administration (DPSA), three departments, Office of the Premier, Department of Health and Education were fingered in wrongdoings in a damning report.

The Portfolio Committee on Public Service and Administration chairperson, Tyotyo James said: “On 2 June 2021, the committee received a presentation from the Public Service Commission (PSC) on financial misconduct in the public service in the 2019/2020 financial year.

“The PSC report flagged the State Security Agency (SSA) and the North West provincial departments of the Office of the Premier, Education, and Health as having failed to submit records on financial misconduct.”

James said they had written letters to the SSA and the North West province has submitted a consolidated presentation. He said the types of misconduct include fraud and financial misconduct, contravention of Section 195 of the constitution, supply chain management (SCM) prescripts, and the Division of Revenue Act, and fraud and contravention of SCM processes.

“The committee noted from the presentation that the amount involved is R75 889 349.70. We are concerned about the amount that may not be recovered amounting to R45 889 349.70 and asked why the province could not recover it.

The committee heard that criminal proceedings were initiated against one employee, a former Director-General. We have recorded our dissatisfaction that nothing has been recovered as yet, but noted that a preservation order for R30 000 000 has been obtained,” said James.  

The province also reported that nine disciplinary cases stem from 2019/20 to 20/21 is still pending.

He further said the committee also noted the progress made by the Department of Public Service and Administration on the establishment of the PAEIDTAU. James added that in March 2020, the unit was formally established as part of the DPSA’s macro-restructuring process and incubated within it.

“The committee welcomed this development and approval of the Lifestyle Audit Guideline and supports the implementation of lifestyle audits in the public service.

The DPSA also briefed the committee on the progress made thus far with the establishment of PAEIDTAU.

“The committee also considered and adopted the Committee Report on Ease of Doing Business Bill. The majority of the committee further adopted the report on the Ease of Doing Business Bill, with the exception of the Democratic Alliance, which had a dissenting view,” he said.

James said the overall report was adopted by the committee and the minutes of the meeting will record the objection by the opposition.

The ANC Interim Provincial Committee (IPC) in the North West said Keabetswe Bushy Maape who was announced as the new North West Premier, will bring stability to the province. The ANC IPC coordinator, Hlomani Chauke was addressing the media today at the North West Provincial Legislature’s ANC Chief Whip Office in Mahikeng.

“As the ANC IPC, we welcome the decision of the ANC National Executive Committee (NEC) to deploy a veteran of the ANC with extensive experience in both the movement and government, Maape as the new North West Premier.

“The process to deploy Maape followed the interviews of three candidates that were recommended to the NEC by the IPC. As we welcome this decision, the IPC further wishes to convey its gratitude to the outgoing Premier, Mokgoro for his sterling work of guiding the provincial government during the most turbulent times as the Premier,” Chauke said.

He further said the appointment of Maape as the Premier-elect, is intended to entrench the work done by the ANC-led provincial government and expedite the roll-out of radical socio-economic transformation in the province. Chauke added that they firmly believe that Maape is equal to the task expected to be delivered as outlined in their election manifesto.

“We take this opportunity to congratulate Maape and wish him well in his new responsibility. A comrade with his credentials understands that ours is a National Democratic Revolution (NDR) whose objective is to build a South Africa where all our people are free from poverty, unemployment, and inequality.

“Maape was recruited into the ANC underground structures, while a student at Hebron Training College. He is also a former commander of the ANC underground Kgalagadi Machinery, which led to his incarceration on Robben Island in the 1980s. After the democratic dispensation, he later served as the chairperson of the ANC in the former Kgalagadi region,” he said.

Chauke said as part of Maape’s public service career, he served as the Director: RDP and Chief Director: Strategic Planning and Development Unit in the Office of the Premier in North West province. He said Maape was later appointed to the Ministerial Advisory Committee of the Department of Provincial and Local Government and also a member of the Municipal Demarcation Board representing North West.

“He possesses a BA in Psychology and Economics from UNISA, which he completed while in Robben Island. Maape also has completed a BA (Hons) in Development Studies from the University of Western Cape and a BA (Hons) in Economics from UWC.

“He is currently studying with the University of the Witwatersrand for a MM in the field of Governance (Political Development and Economics). With his valuable experience both within the movement and academic expertise, Maape will pursue the objectives of the ANC by improving the lives of the people of the North West,” said Chauke.

However, Mokgoro’s removal was met with resistance from some of the disgruntled ANC members who burnt tyres and shrubs at the ANC Provincial Office, Mpekwa House in Mahikeng today. Most of them were from the North West Gatvol Business Forum. 

The NWGBF leader, James Gadinabokao said they are against Mokgoro’s removal.

“Mokgoro is going nowhere, so the ANC IPC must come down and tell the residents of the province what has Mokgoro done wrong. The IPC is lying when they say service delivery has collapsed at the municipalities. Mokgoro has brought stability to the province and his removal is just a factional political battle of Chauke and other criminals who are in the IPC.

“We are happy with the service delivery in the province because Mokgoro has put a system in place to deal with that. We want to reiterate to Chauke that he is the one who should pack his bags and go,” Gadinabokao said.

Meanwhile, Mokgoro has not resigned yet as the North West Premier and the Member of the North West Provincial Legislature. A few months ago, the ANC IPC suspended Mokgoro’s membership after allegations that he created a ‘rogue unit’ in his office and he allegedly voted with the opposition parties during the elections of the new NWPL Chair of Chairs.

Now, Mokgoro and the other four MPLs are facing disciplinary actions for defying ANC instructions.

ANC Interim Provincial Committee in the North West is expected to announce the former struggle stalwart, Bushy Maape as the new North West Premier on Monday. 

This comes after the ANC IPC confirmed that it has submitted three names to the ANC National Executive Committee (NEC) recommended to fill the premiership position. 

ANC IPC coordinator, Hlomani Chauke said the IPC has submitted the names of North West Provincial Legislature speaker, Susanna Dantjie, North West MEC for Finance, Motlalepula Rosho and the ANC veteran, Bushy Maape to be scrutinized. 

According to our source, the former Robben Island political prisoner, Bushy Maape was recommended as the suitable candidate to take over from the current Premier, Prof Job Mokgoro who is expected to render his resignation on Sunday. 

“We are the ones who submitted those names to the ANC NEC. But we cannot comment further on the matter as it is now the prerogative of the ANC NEC to see who is better suited for the position. 

“So, let’s await for the process to unfold, then we can comment afterwards,” Chauke said. 

The ANC IPC allegedly recommended that Mokgoro who is believed to be the ally of the former ANC provincial chairperson and North West Premier, Supra Mahumapelo be removed from the premiership position because ‘he does as he pleases’ and continue to ignore the structure’s instructions. 

Few months ago, the ANC IPC temporarily suspended Mokgoro’s ANC membership card after accusing him of defying the structure’s instructions and allegedly voted with the opposition parties at the North West Provincial Legislature during the elections of Legislature’s Chair of Chairs position.

Also Mokgoro allegedly defied the ANC IPC instructions by appointing Mmoloki Cwaile as the MEC for Cooperative Governance, Human Settlement and Traditional Affairs (COGHSTA), instead of Lenah Miga who was recommended by the IPC. 

‘New North West Premier to be introduced as Mokgoro is no more the man for the job’

However, Cwaile resigned as the MEC last week after a fall-out with Mokgoro and Miga was appointed as the new MEC for that portfolio.

A 57-YEAR-OLD man from Mokassa 1 village near Taung was killed in a ‘love triangle’ saga. According to the North West police, this comes after the suspect (41) allegedly found the deceased, Onkemetse Jeremia Morwaeng sleeping with his girlfriend on Thursday around 7am.

It is alleged that the woman was dating both the suspect and the deceased at the same time. North West police spokesperson, Capt Sam Tselanyane said the suspect was arrested after he allegedly stabbed Morwaeng to death with a knife.  

“According to the information, the suspect allegedly entered the room where he found Morwaeng sleeping with his girlfriend (41). It is alleged that the woman in question was also Morwaeng’s girlfriend too.

“Upon finding the two, the suspect allegedly drew a knife and stabbed the victim once on the left of his upper body. The victim managed to flee to the other room where he collapsed.

After the incident, the suspect left together with the girlfriend to Mokasa 2 village,” Tselanyane said.

He said the police were informed about the atrocity and summoned to the scene. Tselanyane further said the members of the community in Mokasa 2, allegedly apprehended the suspect and took him back to the scene, where he was handed over to the police.

“As a result, a case of murder was registered and the suspect is expected to appear before the Taung Magistrate’s Court on 16 August 2021. Investigation into the matter continues,” he said.
