Score: Kaizer Chiefs 0-0 (6-5 pen) Orlando Pirates
Date: 7 November 2015
Venue: FNB Stadium
Kaizer Chiefs claimed a spot in the Telkom Knockout final via a penalty shootout in their Soweto Derby against Orlando Pirates on Saturday.
Amakhosi had the best chance of the half in the ninth minute when a corner kick from Siphiwe Tshabalala picked out Ivan Bukenya, but his volley went over the bar.
Shabba was the creator again in the 20th minute. He sent a clever pass over the top for George Lebese but he was under pressure and sent his effort over the goal.
At the other end of the pitch Kermit Erasmus provided a great free kick that found Ntsikelelo Nyauza unmarked at the back post, but his header was well saved by Brilliant Khuzwayo.
Bukenya had another good chance in the 38th minute when Shabba sent a free kick in his direction, but he somehow failed to make contact.
Bucs had a good chance 10 minutes into the second half. A long ball into the Chiefs area was layed up by Thamsanqa Gabuza who gave Erasmus the chance to volley at goal, but the powerful strike was straight at the keeper.

Released UJ students angry about how struggle unfolded

JOHANNESBURG – While students and workers arrested for protesting at the University of Johannesburg (UJ) have now been released, they say they are angry at the manner in which their struggle has unfolded.

According to the police’s Tsekiso Mofokeng, all 141 protestors were released today on a warning on condition they appear at the Brixton Magistrates Court on Monday.

They were detained for contravening a court order prohibiting protests at the Kingsway campus during exams.

A student says they demands have been very simple.

“There is a lot of anger and the manner in which the struggle has drawn out wasn’t expected. We are angry about how the demands are being ignored. We are angry because we are being referred to as a minority, we are not a minority.”

Telkom Knockout
Teams: Kaizer Chiefs v Orlando Pirates
Date: 7 November 2015
Venue: FNB Stadium
Another highly anticipated Soweto Derby will get underway when Kaizer Chiefs host Orlando Pirates in the Telkom Knockout semi-finals on Saturday.
Amakhosi beat Platinum Stars 3-0 before a 2-1 win over Mpumalanga Black Aces on the road to their semi-final berth.
Steve Komphela’s charges have found some form recently after a poor start to their season, winning two of their last three league ties.
However, it’s their most recent defeat that could have the biggest impact on their confidence as it was a 3-1 loss to Pirates last weekend.
Meanwhile, Eric Tinkler’s side should be in high spirits after also enjoying some recent improvement in their results.
Bucs beat Ajax Cape Town 2-1 in midweek and will still be glowing after their Soweto Derby victory on 31 October.
The most noteworthy statistic is, however, the amount of success Chiefs have had in this competition, winning no less than 13 titles, while Pirates’ only success was in 2011.
Here’s how they line up:
Chiefs: Khuzwayo, Gaxa, Mathoho, Bukenya, Masilela, Katsande, Baloyi, Ekstein, Tshabalala, Lebese, Abraw
Pirates: Mpontshane, Nyauza, Gcaba, Sangweni, Matlaba, Rakhale, Ntshumayelo, Sarr, Makola, Erasmus, Gabuza.

Khune was left out of the Chiefs starting XI for their Telkom Knockout Soweto Derby clash against Orlando Pirates on Saturday and replaced by Brilliant Khuzwayo.
The reason for his absence is due to his knee injury. He will have surgery on the problematic joint on Monday.
“Itumeleng Khune injured his knee during training and will be going for surgery next week. We wish him a speedy recovery,” the club tweeted.

It remains unclear how long he is due to be sidelined, but he should miss out on the Angola clash on 13 November.
