Two died, one injured in a train crash near Hartswater

TWO people died in a horrific accident between Magogong and Hartswater, says Northern Cape police said.

Northern Cape police spokesperson, Lieutenant Donald Mdhluli said a train allegedly plunged on a black ford fiesta which was occupied by three people.

“A black ford fiesta was allegedly crossing the railway lines and failed to stop at the stop sign for the oncoming train.

“The train crashed onto a car and killed the driver and a passenger. Another passenger was rushed to local hospital in critical condition for medical attention,” Mdhluli said.

He said a case of culpable homicide was opened at Hartswater police station and no one suffered any injuries in a train.
