Two  men were killed and five others sustained various injuries in a head-on collision on the N12 approximately 18 kilometres outside of Potchefstroom last night.

 ER24 spokesperson, Werner Vermaak said paramedics found two vehicles with severe damage. He said two men, the driver and passenger, was found with fatal injuries in one of the vehicles. 

“Sadly, there was nothing that paramedics could do for them and they were declared dead on the scene. Five men were found with various injuries, ranging from moderate to severe.

“They were treated on the scene and later rushed to Potchefstroom Provincial Hospital for further care,” Vermaak said.

He added that the exact cause for the collision is not yet known. Vermaak further said local authorities attended to the scene.
