The pupils at Boitsanape Secondary School in Mahikeng were left dejected after they were denied an opportunity to write the Grade 11 Physical Science paper on Tuesday.

One of the pupils said they were prohibited in writing the paper after allegations that it was leaked on social networking platform.

“We were denied the opportunity to write the Physical Science question paper. The committee at the school said the paper was leaked on WhatsApp. However other Grade 11 pupils from various schools wrote the paper.  Why should they stop us whereas others from other schools wrote it?. We did not see that leaked question paper. We were prepared to write the paper, now this?” One of the pupils said.

North West education and sport development spokesperson, Elias Malindi told sabc news that the department was aware of the allegations.

“We are currently investigating the claims. The new date will be set for the pupils to write the paper soon. All will be communicated to them,” Malindi said.

Cosas PEC member in North West,  Letlhogonolo Modibane said: “The department of education must take the responsibility. How could the paper be leaked while they were under heavy security. The same issue took place in Brits.”
