Telkom Knockout
Teams: Kaizer Chiefs v Orlando Pirates
Date: 7 November 2015
Venue: FNB Stadium
Another highly anticipated Soweto Derby will get underway when Kaizer Chiefs host Orlando Pirates in the Telkom Knockout semi-finals on Saturday.
Amakhosi beat Platinum Stars 3-0 before a 2-1 win over Mpumalanga Black Aces on the road to their semi-final berth.
Steve Komphela’s charges have found some form recently after a poor start to their season, winning two of their last three league ties.
However, it’s their most recent defeat that could have the biggest impact on their confidence as it was a 3-1 loss to Pirates last weekend.
Meanwhile, Eric Tinkler’s side should be in high spirits after also enjoying some recent improvement in their results.
Bucs beat Ajax Cape Town 2-1 in midweek and will still be glowing after their Soweto Derby victory on 31 October.
The most noteworthy statistic is, however, the amount of success Chiefs have had in this competition, winning no less than 13 titles, while Pirates’ only success was in 2011.
Here’s how they line up:
Chiefs: Khuzwayo, Gaxa, Mathoho, Bukenya, Masilela, Katsande, Baloyi, Ekstein, Tshabalala, Lebese, Abraw
Pirates: Mpontshane, Nyauza, Gcaba, Sangweni, Matlaba, Rakhale, Ntshumayelo, Sarr, Makola, Erasmus, Gabuza.
