A 60-year-old man burnt to death in Wollies

Wolmaransstad- A 60 year-old man died after his bedroom caught fire, North West police spokesperson sergeant Kelebogile Moleko said.

Moleko said the incident took place in Wolmaransstad, North West on Thursday.

She said family members were asleep and one of them noticed a smoke coming out of one of bedrooms.

“A 60 year-old man died in a fire after one of family members noticed smoke coming out of his bedroom. The member rushed to the room and allegedly found the deceased’s be on fire and he feet burnt” Moleko said.

She said the fire was extinguished but the man was certified dead by paramedics after he suffered burnt wounds on his feet.

“The cause of fire is still unknown and a case of inquest was opened and investigation continues,” she concludes.-TDN

North West premier to celebrate his birthday in Manamolela

The Acting Director-General, Professor T.J. Mokgoro and Staff of the Office of the Premier would like to wish Honourable Supra Obakeng Mahumapelo, Premier of Bokone Bophirima a happy birthday as he turns 47 years.

Premier Mahumapelo turns 47 on Sunday the 7th June, 2015.

“Since this morning, messages of congratulation started pouring in as the Premier informed staff of his birthday at the launch of World Environmental Day at the Ga-Rona Square this morning” Office of the Premier spokesperson, Brian Setswambung said.

Premier Mahumapelo will celebrate his birthday with family and friends at Manamolela village in Bokone Bophirima where he grew up.

Mahumapelo celebrates his birthday at a time when Bokone Bophirima and the entire country celebrate Youth Month.

“The entire Administration would like say to the Premier: “May God grant you many more years, and may you live longer to complete the task of rebranding, repositioning and renewal of Bokone Bophirima which is your most cherished dream.

“We also request the Almighty to give you the necessary strength to lead this great province” he said.
