Johannesburg-Gauteng police has allegedly arrested Kaizer Chiefs well-known soccer star after he was implicated in hijacking.
Two days ago, one of vehicles hijacked in Johannesburg CBD was found at his parking lot.
The player,23, was arrested along with his accomplice.
Our source confirmed that during arrest, two suspects were allegedly wearing the player’s official Kaizer Chiefs attaire.
They were arrested and will appear in court soon.
However Kaizer Chiefs communication Manager Alpheus Vina Maphosa vehemently denies the allegations and said he knows nothing about the incident.
“It is so the very first time I heard this from you. From where we stand, no Kaizer Chiefs player has been arrested” Maphosa said.
Gauteng police spokesperson Lungelo Dlamini could not confirm the incident as his phone rang unanswered.
According to reports, the suspects who were arrested along with the player were allegedly involved in a hijack that was caught on camera in JHB CBD weeks ago.-TDN

JOHANNESBURG – Police have confirmed that someone living in Kaizer Chiefs player Nhlanhla Brilliant Khuzwayo’s apartment is one of the four men arrested for the hijacking on Commissioner Street in Johannesburg last week.“Someone in the apartment was arrested,” said police spokesperson Lungelo Dlamini.Meanwhile, Khuzwayo denied links to the crime.“I’m no Kaizer Thief!” Khuzwayo told the Daily Sun on Wednesday distancing himself from the hijacking. Khuzwayo’s agent Tim Zukazi confirmed that the hijacked car was found by police in his client’s parking bay.Zukazi told eNCA.com that the police questioned Khuzwayo but he hasn’t released a formal statement to the public.”Brilliant Khuzwayo spoke to the police, he didn’t give a statement,” Zukazi.Police spokesman Lungelo Dlamini said the vehicle was found in Meredale, south of Johannesburg.Chiefs spokesman Vina Maphosa confirmed that this is where the player lives.Maphosa told eNCA.com yesterday that the player cooperated fully with police.“The player stays in a complex. To be clear, it (the vehicle) was not found in his driveway as earlier reports suggested. It was found in his allotted parking bay.”Asked about the player’s state of mind, Maphosa said he was “calm, co-operative but disappointed”.“As a club we are (also) disappointed to have our name mixed up in this horrendous crime.”Maphosa said the player had not communicated a desire to take further action against those who parked the stolen vehicle in his parking bay. “That (whether the player will take legal action) will be his private matter.”The car in found at the goalkeeper’s home, was the same Toyota Rav 4 that appeared in a video of a hijacking, which took happened in the Johannesburg CBD earlier this month.Khuzwayo was in Botswana at the time the vehicle was tracked.Fans are now questioning if this was a set up.Maureen Tinnybell Sithole responded on the Chiefs Facebook page saying: “Let us hope that is a set up guys or otherwise…”Elnino El Emmanuel Raphasha echoed similar sentiments, “Its all a set up guys, don’t think our player can steal a Toyota Rav 4. These guys, they are paid good money, they can afford big cars
