Young,Black and Beautiful…meet The young & The Restless Masego “Meezy” Sebigi.
The young rapper was born and raised in Tlapeng,The remote area in the
outskirt of Taung.
Meezy was born fifteen years ago and she has a
dream,she want to be one of the best female rappers in the country.
She believes she got what it takes as that position remains vacant as
long as i remember.
We saw the likes of Relo(once feautured by Skwatta Kamp as vocalist on
a track called Siso bambelela) trying too fill it,but it was not
enough.
Even though the music genre is dominated by male rappers so far,Meezy
think she can give them a run for their money…..”I am very focused
and want to be the first best female rapper,even though that task is
mammoth i think i got more arsenals” she said.
The sexy Meezy continues”Since i fallen in love with rap music since
day one and being inspired by the likes of HHP and AKA…so i belive
in myself and nothing is impossible” she said.
A Taung-born rapper is doing grade 10 at Walter Letsie High School in
Manthestadt,Taung.
Meezy also believe education is the most weapon to fight poverty
“Education is very important,so we must take it very serious as the
youths…i believe is a break-away tool from poverty. Without
education we are doomed society and i was brought up by a single
parent,so life has not been enjoyable but i would like to say big up
to my mom for always been there for me” she said.
Meezy has not yet recorded any songs,but working hard with her group
members as their group called Castle Brence and mainly dominated by
males.
Masego said she would also like to persue her studies, even though
she is passionate about music “I want to continue with my studies
after i finish my matric. I want to study medicine and become a doctor
one day and of course not forgetting my music” she said.
Since she want to become a doctor,our crew asked the young rapper
about what’s her understanding of HIV-AIDS disease.
“What i know is that is that HIV-AIDS is a killer disease and it start
with you as a person,so let’s always be arlet at all time and i believ
one day we will be living in an HIV-free country” she said.
And also as many girls are chasing limelight,what’s her take on the
burning issue. “As girls we need to know that glamorous lifestyle does
not come easily-it has to be worked hard for. The same applies to fame
and fortune.
But hard work pays off in the end,and you will enjoy the
results. Always remember easy come,easy go…is the nature of the
game” she explain.
