Five injured in Carletonville collision



Five people, including a twelve-year-old boy, was injured in a collision at the R28 and N12 intersection earlier this morning.

At approximately 7.30am paramedics from ER24 and GPG arrived on the scene where they found a Volvo that crashed through the barriers and standing on the middle island. A VW Polo was found a few meters way in the road.

Two occupants, including the little boy, from the VW Polo sustained moderate injuries. They had to be extricated from their vehicle. Three people from the Volvo sustained minor injuries and was found walking around on the scene. The occupants from both vehicles were transported to a nearby hospital by ER24 and GPG.

It is understood that one of the vehicles allegedly skipped the intersection and collided into the side of the other. However, the exact cause of the collision will still be investigated.

Two men stabbed in Carletonville


Two men, believed to be in their early twenties, sustained multiple injuries when they were assaulted with a knife in Talc Street, Carletonville.

During the early hours of this morning, paramedics from ER24 were dispatched to the scene in Talc Street where they found one of the men with serious lacerations to his face and arms. He was bleeding profusely and paramedics had to stabilise and stop the bleeding before he was transported to hospital. A second man was found with multiple lacerations over his arms. He was later transported by another service to hospital.

Both men were transported to Carletonville Hospital for further care. It is understood that they were on their way home from a nearby shop when the incident occurred. The exact circumstances surrounding the incident is not yet known.
