World Refugee Day To Be Celebrated

BY OBAKENG MAJE
The Whole World Women Association will join the rest of the world to mark world refugee day on Saturday.

The event is to reflect on all the horrific violence from the countries and communities where people came from, a reminder that can all seek lasting solutions to all the conflicts around the world that have forced millions of people to flee their homes to save their lives.

The purpose of the event is to:

1. Raise awareness within our local communities and globally of the plight and discrimination of refugees and displaced people.

2. To honour all those refugees who have made a positive contribution to their communities, and those who have lost their lives in any form of conflict.

3. To acknowledge all organizations and institutions who have contributed towards making life comfortable to refugees around the world.

In solidarity the event will be supported by:

 The Right2Know Campaign

 The Khulumani Support Group Western Cape

 The Salt River Community House Management

 Friends of WWWA and community members

DATE: Saturday 20 June 2015

TIME: 1:30PM – 4PM
