Rustenburg – Two teenage boys were arrested for allegedly raping a 12-year-old girl in Huhudi near Vryburg, North West police said on Thursday.

Sergeant Kelebogile Moleko said the two, both aged 16, were arrested on Wednesday.

“It is alleged that the minor was walking home from her grandmother’s place to where she stays when approached by four suspects who threatened her with a knife. It is further alleged that the minor was taken to a certain house, and was repeatedly raped from Sunday until Tuesday, and locked inside the house,” said Moleko.

“The minor, who is alleged to be mentally challenged, allegedly informed her mother about the matter and eventually identified the two suspects.”

The two minors were due in court soon, while police were still searching for the two other suspects.
