A 70-year-old grandmother and her family has received an early Christmas present in the form of a new fully furnished house from Human settlements minister, Lindiwe Sisulu.

The handover is a fulfilment of a promise by Sisulu after she saw the appalling conditions under which the family lived

Since her husband’s death 13 years ago, Mavis Manon (70) from Port Elizabeth, her children and her grandchildren have been living in a dilapidated home together.
