JOHANNESBURG – President Jacob Zuma on Sunday arrived in Dar-es-Salaam in Tanzania ahead of peace talks with Tanzanian President Jakaya Kikwete, his office said.

Zuma was scheduled to hold talks with Kikwete on Monday, said spokesman Mac Maharaj.

“After the meeting with President Kikwete tomorrow, President Zuma will proceed to Kampala, Uganda, for talks with President Yoweri Museveni,” said Maharaj.

The consultations and discussions with the two presidents were a follow up to the visit to South Africa recently by President Salva Kiir Mayardit of South Sudan.

The visits were aimed at taking forward the peace process in South Sudan.

Environment Affairs Minister, Edna Molewa would be the acting president until Zuma returns.
