EFF to take SA to promised land, says Malema

malema.jpg

Bloemfontein – The EFF has seen the future, it is bright, and the party can take South Africa there, its leader Julius Malema said on Sunday.

“We have been to the mountain top and have seen the future. The future looks very bright,” he told delegates at the party’s elective conference at the University of the Free State in Bloemfontein.

“South Africa will get to economic emancipation and at the forefront will be EFF because we will not tire.”

Malema said the Economic Freedom Fighters was the only organisation that would liberate the country.

“There is no other vehicle that has the energy and will to liberate South Africa,” he said.

Earlier, Malema said South Africa is in crisis.

“It is experiencing a leadership crisis,” he told delegates.

He referred to unemployment, service delivery, and education.

“We are in a crisis because the eight million people need jobs and cannot find them… We are in a crisis because we have a local government that cannot deliver basic services. We have an education crisis… those in government do not know where matriculants will go next year.

“We are in crisis because Parliament is run in a partisan fashion. Judges are also co-opted into a corrupt system to protect corrupt politicians.”

The Economic Freedom Fighters should fight with determination to defeat the ruling African National Congress, which he said was weak.

“We are the worthy successors from the ruling party,” the former ANC Youth League leader said.

“The rightwing party such as the DA has reached the ceiling and will not attract anymore black voters.”

He rejected claims that the EFF was collaborating with the Democratic Alliance in Parliament.

Members of the ANC Women’s League in Limpopo put panties on their heads and screamed ‘Beyonce, Beyonce’ as they chased a party official out of their elective conference, according to a report.

An ANC member who spoke to the Sunday World on condition of anonymity said “apparently these ill-disciplined delegates followed him screaming ‘Beyonce, Beyonce’, and that is when he ran out of the venue,”

The Sunday World reported the official was the ANC’s provincial secretary Nocks Seabi who had come to the league’s elective conference, being held at a lodge in Limpopo last weekend, after reports of delayed registration.

DA calls for SABC Tshabalala’s suspension

0000216159

Johannesburg- The Presidency has confirmed receiving a letter from the Speaker of the National Assembly requesting the President to consider suspending Ellen Tshabalala for misrepresenting her qualifications.

“We call on President Zuma to immediately suspend Ellen Tshabalala, pending her removal from office by a resolution of the National Assembly.

“It is well known that President Zuma and Ellen Tshabalala have a close personal and professional relationship. It has also been reported that Zuma personally saw to it that Tshabalala was on the ANC’s list of candidates to the SABC Board” Democratic Alliance Shadow minister of Communications Gavin Davis said.

The President now has an opportunity to rise above any conflict of interest by swiftly implementing Parliament’s recommendation to suspend Tshabalala.

There are several good reasons for the President to suspend Tshabalala immediately:

An Inquiry held by the Communications Portfolio Committee found that Tshabalala had lied to Parliament about her qualifications and that she had committed perjury when she lied in a sworn affidavit.
Tshabalala has announced that she will try to tie up the process in more litigation, thus delaying it further and causing more upheaval and brand damage to the SABC.

According to DA, Tshabalala is making irrational decisions at the SABC, such as delegating the authority of CEO to Hlaudi Motsoeneng despite the damning findings against him in the Public Protector’s report.

“It is a weakness in our law that it is the sole prerogative of the President to suspend an SABC Board Member. Fortunately, no such presidential discretion exists when it comes to the permanent removal of a Board Member from office.

“But the parliamentary process for Tshabalala’s removal can only happen in February next year when the House reconvenes. Until then, the President must do the right thing and suspend Tshabalala as he is empowered to do in terms of section 15A (2) (a) of the Broadcasting Act” Davis said.

DA says the people of South Africa are tired of this protracted saga.

The party says the President Zuma can end it by suspending Tshabalala without delay.

DA to lodge SA Institute of Health Care Managers complaint against Kuruman Hospital CEO

919867356

BY KEDIBONE MOLAETSI

Kuruman- The DA will today lodge a complaint against the Kuruman Hospital CEO, Agnes Sesing, to the South African Institute of Health Care Managers, for gross negligence and mismanagement of her hospital.

This comes after the DA visited the hospital on Friday, following various reports on blood spillage from the hospitals’ mortuary.

“Subsequently, we laid charges against the MEC for Health in the Northern Cape, Mac Jack, who should ultimately be held accountable for the state of this public hospital.

“The general condition of the hospital is appalling. Hospital management had to dispose of medical waste and equipment on the precinct. There is a clear lack of funding from the Northern Cape Health Department, as the neglect is endemic”  DA Federal chairperson Wilmot James said.

DA said the sight of patients on stretchers stationed outside the hospital among dumped hospital beds and other medical waste is shocking and extremely disturbing.

According to DA, these are clearly inhumane and undignified circumstances. The hospital has an unused wing, broken fences and the hospital is completely unhygienic.

Section 27 of the Constitution states that every South African has the right to access health care.

They say how are the residents of Kuruman expected to be satisfied with this hospital in such a desolate state, and say 3 years have passed without any Provincial government support.

“Mr Jack, has not once communicated to the residents, patients and medical staff, what he intends to do to fix the condition of the hospital and ensure the hospital meets its Constitutional obligations” James said.
