Barkly West- A one year-old boy who suffered head injuries after the shack he was sleeping in was petrol-bombed, received groceries and hampers from Garden Court and Discem.
The Northern Cape cops have shown compassion after Major General Kethlareng Hilda Mohajane, and the Deputy Provincial Commissioner for Detective Services, visited the family of a one year-old boy who was burnt in Barkly West.
Major General Mohajane led the SAPS Barkly West Team during a visit to the family of Ogone Mogatlanyane who sustained facial burns during an unrest situation which took place on the 25th November 2014 in Barkly West.
“It is alleged that protesters threw a petrol bomb container in their shack, but unfortunately it exploded on the bed where Mogatlanyane was sleeping. Both representatives from Garden Court and Discem handed over the gifts to the family” Northern Cape police spokesperson Brigadier Masebueng Mochologi-Maleeme said.
Provincial Detective task Team is being established to investigate the case.
Maleeme said calm has since been restored in the area and the police are still investigating the case involving the one year old boy.
