Kimberley- Two suspects were arrested on Thursday last week in Postmasburg and were charged with possession of drugs and possession of firearm without a licence.

Juckie Desvegam van Wyk (25) and Jasmon Morne Seekoei (21) appeared in Postmasburg magistrates’ court on 25 November 2014.

They were released on bail of R300 each and the case is remanded to 08 December 14.

“It is alleged that the Postmasburg police receive information about possible dealing in drugs in Newton. The police reacted swiftly and after searching the said premises, they confiscated 13 mandrax tablets to the value of R1 300 as well as a firearm and rounds ammunition” Major Dimakatso Mooi said.

Lieutenant Gavin Booysen of Postmasburg police commended members for a job well done. He also thanked the community for coming forth with such valuable information.

“This is proof that the police together with the community can do more to win the fight against crime”, he said.
