Reivilo- Police as part of broader Woman’s month activities visited Reivilo High School with an objective of empowering learners on the dangers associated with drug abuse and the services offered by SAPS’s FCS unit (Family Violence, Children and Sexual Offences Unit) the unit‘s presence specifically targeted female learners on the irresponsible use of drugs particularly alcohol which can lead crimes such as rape, kidnapping or even death.
FCS representative urged the girls to concentrate on their education and to refrain from activities which don’t add value to their life. Warrant Officer Kole gave an in-depth presentation on drugs and dangers associated with the use, focusing on the easily accessible drugs such as Marijuana and Nyaope.
Mafikeng EHW’s Chaplain Khuduga closed the session with a motivational speech of vision and the lack thereof in line with the theme of the day.
“I am somebody and I don’t need somebody to be somebody” Khuduga said.
