Taung- The Friends of Taung Givers continue to show their unwavering support and love to the previously disadvantaged pupils in schools across Dr Ruth Segomotsi Mompati.
On Saturday, Friends of Taung Givers co-founders, Sandy Gasekoma and Outlwile Moeng along with their crew embarked on social responsibility by handing over school uniforms, shoes and school bags to the future tomorrow.
The team started-off at Ikhutseng primary school in Vaaltyn village near Reivilo and handed-over more than 50 school materials.
Ikhutseng primary school principal Sammy Mosimaneotsile Gaopalangwe was so emotional when receiving materials.
“We are very grateful and appreciate the love shown to us by Friends of Taung Givers. This will go the long way in nourishment because by developing our children, we nurturing our future leaders” Gaopalangwe said.
The Friends of Taung Givers work together with African National Congress Women’s League(ANCWL) and the member of the structure in the province Boitumelo Mahlangu said the ANC liberated everybody to have education and be equipped.
“The ANC says the doors of learning shall be opened for all. We appreciate the scintillating job done by Friends of Taung Givers. In every challenge, there is an opportunity, so do not despair in pain, make sure you study hard and just know that education is the key” Mahlangu told learners of Ithuteng primary.
The School Governing Body(SGB) representative Martha Jansen,61 also welcomes the Friends of Taung Givers and said they appreciate their support.
The Friends of Taung Givers’ next stop was Sekhing village, near Pampierstad were they also gave away uniforms, school bags and shoes.
The crew was welcomed by Reduetswe primary school principal Daphney Moitsi, parents and pupils who shared smiles when the Friends of Taung Givers arrived at their shores.
“It really shows that God is great. He said Friends of Taung Givers to show support to our children. At Reduetswe we are very grateful and pray to God that he must give them courage. Please keep on helping others too as God will bless you so much, we cannot show how happy we are…we are taken away” Moitsi said.
Sanco members also came to witness the event and send their message of support and appreciation.
“Friends of Taung Givers have a clear and simple vision: a prosperous and inclusive future without waste. A future without soci-economic issues that affect us daily is not just a dream; it’s a necessity. Poverty reduces the effectiveness in us to reach our destiny, increases pressures on the unconducive environment and harms the vitality of our communities” Sandy Gasekoma said.
Gasekoma said it does not have to be this way. “Poverty is the result of a broken process. Fortunately, this is a process that can be fixed.”-TDN
