Vryburg- The disruption of month of June celebrations event at Banquet Hall in Vryburg, by the youth of Dr Segomotsi Mompati is only the tip of the iceberg according to some youth.

The Youth Month celebration was organised by Dr Ruth S Mompati District but was disrupted by the youth and said they were misled.

“The event was supposed to be a Youth Summit where we will come and share ideas and talk about issues affecting our youth” one youth who want to remain anonymous in fear of victimization said.

According to acting Executive Mayor Kgalalelo Sereko, the theme of the event was crystal clear. “We informed everyone that this will be a celebration of the month of June, not a Youth Summit as said.”

Sereko said the event like this is organised annually and they never experience this deportment before.

Most of Stakeholders were there, the likes NYDA, Love-Life and others.

The youth of South Africa is facing ernomous pressure as the make 70% of the population of South Africa yet the unemployment is rife amongst them.

According to Sereko, the event will be re-organised again.-TDN
