Bafana star hijacked in CT


Cape Town – Bafana Bafana and Lokeren midfielder Ayanda Patosi survived a hijacking in Gugulethu in Cape Town on Saturday.

According to the Soccer-Laduma website, Patosi walked away unscathed from the incident, which the police are now investigating.

Four sustain injuries in an accident near Potch

Potchefstroom- Four adult males sustained injuries ranging from minor to moderate when their bakkie overturned on Ikageng Road in Potchefstroom on Sunday.

When ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene, three of the bakkie occupants were ejected from the vehicle.

“All the occupants of the vehicle sustained injuries including lacerations and various suspected limb fractures.The patients were transported to Potchefstroom Hospital for further medical care” Er24 spokesperson Russel Meiring said.

There were no other vehicles involved in the collision. The incident is currently under investigation.-TDN

Two killed in separate accident in North West

Carltonville- Two people were killed in two separate ‘rollover’ collisions in the Carletonville area on Sunday.

“Just after 02:00, a light motor vehicle carrying eight people overturned on the R501 killing one woman on scene.The seven other occupants of the vehicle sustained minor to moderate injuries and were transported to Carletonville Hospital for further medial care” Er24 Russel Meiring said.

In a separate collision, an adult male was killed after his vehicle overturned on the R500. When ER24 paramedics arrived on scene after 05:00, they attended to the four survivors who sustained minor to moderate injuries.

They were also transported to Carletonville Hospital for further medical care.

The incidents are currently under investigation.-TDN
