Mahikeng-North West police arrested an alleged killer of North West University student, Katlego “Gutta” Rantlhane who was bludgeoned to death last week.

Police said Aubrey Kgakgamatso and other patrons where drinking beers at Lapalaka,in Mahikeng when an argument ensued between him and Rantlhane.

The fight precipitated to a fight and Rantlhane was stabbed to death.

“The suspect subsequently fled the scene, however he handed himself at Mahikeng police station yesterday.” Captain Pelonomi Makau said.

Kgakgamatso will appear before Molopo Magistrate Court on Monday.

“He will appear for a formal bail and he was charged with murder of Rantlhane” Makau said.

Katlego “Gutta” Rantlhane is expected to be buried today at his hometown and he was a third year Transport Economic (Bcom) student at North West University.
