At its extra – ordinary National Executive Meeting of the SA Schools Football Association, SASFA, held over the weekend, a clear and positive picture of progress and growth emerged for the football development of South Africa.
“We are happy to announce a clean bill of health for Schools Football since all our sponsors and partners are on board & this bodes well for the continued existence of organised schools football. We are glad that our partners are satisfied” said an elated Mandla ‘Shoes’ Mazibuko.
All contracts that were due for renewal have been honoured for the next cycle of sponsorship and it is rumoured that McDonald’s South Africa is looking keen to renew the FWC Legacy Project partnership with SASFA, the McDonald’s U/14 Schools League.
SASFA also voiced its weight behind AFCON 2013 and Bafana – Bafana team and joins millions of South Africans to support all the teams and rally fully behind our team by making sure that they purchase tickets as this is part of showering the team with the boost of encouragement that they need.
“Let us all rise to the occasion and support AFCON teams, the best that Africa has to offer and make sure that we buy tickets. We call upon all schools to support these games “added Mazibuko.
All members of the National Executive Committee have re-committed themselves to work hard for unity, inclusive participation; sustained advancement of Schools Football as well expressed confidence on the current leadership. They also expressed willingness to take care of Girl Child Football by pledging a special budget for Provinces to roll out programmes aimed at ensuring that Girls do play football whilst the NEC works hard to bring partners on board since it has been proved that Women Football is the fastest growing sport.
We rock Bafana – bafana we rock!
