The North West South African Police Service will be hosting the annual SAPS Women National Soccer Championship in Ikageng stadium, Potchefstroom from the 06 till 10 August 2012.  All nine provinces including the head office will be represented by women teams.  A total number of 240 female members expected to arrive on the 5 August 2012 from all the provinces. The opening ceremony will be held on Monday, 6 August 2012, at 07:00 in  Ikageng Stadium, Potchefstroom. This is where all police women teams will be parading according to their provincial colours. They will be introduced to the North West Provincial commissioner Lt Gen NZ Mbombo and her guests, thereafter the games will commence.

 All this will be followed by a closing ceremony on Friday the 10 August 2012, at Ikageng Stadium where the championship winners will be announced and presented with the trophies. This is the national police event created to honour the strides of women in blue usually held on women’s month yearly. The media is invited to attend the event
