Taung- A sangoma was arrested yesterday in Mokgareng near Taung,Northern Cape after a murder of a mid 20s girl. The girl was allegedly been killed and her parts of the body were ripped-off.
Mokgareng community were foaming after the dramatic event. According to the reports, the young lady was originally from Schweize-reneke and came to see the sangoma for consultation.
Apparently her mutilated body was found by a passerby who saw a black plastic floating on the water in the river nearby. Her lifeless body was found in the plastic bag while her head and feet found meters away.
The police were called to the scene and discover this gruesome event.
The Taung SAPS spokesperson, colonel Mothusi Kgwenyape earlier told the residents that they will hunt down the perpetrator and result in a well-known sangoma (36) being arrested.
“We really condemn the killings and we have managed to arrest a 36 year old suspect who is implicated in the matter. However i can disclose the name of the suspect as he will appear in court tomorrow” he said.
Even though Kgwenyape cannot disclose how and why they suspect the sangoma as he says that will jeopardise their investigations, our mole can confirm that they received a tip-off from a member of a community.
“Our investigations are underway and we might make some few arrest and we cannot disclose how we received the information as that can affect our investigations” he said

Very sad news indeed. Some people deserve the death penalty. One concern though, when did taung move to the norhern cape?

1stly this article is boring..Taung is not in the Northern Cape province but North West..if the SAPS Spoke person can dislose the name he mite as well tell why they suspect that Sangoma..

Thanx for concern…but the suspect has not appeared in court yet,according to the law of South Africa,you not allowed to name the suspect before he/she appear before magistrate…same if someone die you have to inform his/her family before give the info to media houses.
