Seven suspects who allegedly gang-raped a 17 year old mental handicapped girl will appear in Rodepoort Magistarte Court this morning on charges of rape and kidnapping.

The girl was gang-raped three weeks ago and given R2 to buy her silence. Rape ordeal was filmed and the video since went viral around the country. 

The seven boys aged between 17-20 were arrested and since after the rape took place,the girl went missing. But the girl was found yesterday afternoon and taken to the police station.

The MEC also visited the police station yesterday and had an eye-to-eye talk with the girl. SAP[S spokesperson, Kay Makhubela confirm the arrest. “We have arrested seven boys who allegedl;y gang-aped the young girl and the ordeal was filmed. And the suspects will appear before magistrate at Rodepoort Magistrate Court on charges of kidnapping and rape” he said.

NPA urge people who have the video on their cellphones to delete it and stop the distribution of it as that is illegal. This cost an outcry around the country.
