Johannesburg Emergency Management Services (EMS) confirmed six people, killed in a taxi accident on the N1 North on Monday morning, may have been sangomas travelling to a ritual ceremony in Zandspruit.
Five adults and a child were killed in the accident while six others were rushed to the Leratong Hospital in Soweto.
EMS spokesperson Synock Matobako said no other vehicles were involved in the accident.
“The taxi didn’t hit another car but rolled on its own.
“Possible speeding will not be excluded from the cause of the accident.”
