Travel safely over Easter – Zuma

President Jacob Zuma on Thursday joined the call for a reduction in Easter road accidents.

In 2011, more than 150 people were killed on the roads during the holiday.

High traffic volumes have already been reported on the N3 to KwaZulu-Natal, N4 to Mpumalanga and the N1 towards Limpopo as the Easter rush begins.

The Transport Department’s Tiyane Rikhotso has urged motorists and passengers to do their bit.

“We are going to enforce the rules of the road without exception, but we also remind people to adhere to the rules of the road.”

HELEN ZILLE’S TWEETS TAKEN UPON!!!

Zille refugee tweet taken to SAHRC

The South African Human Rights Commission (SAHRC) on Thursday confirmed it had received two complaints about a controversial tweet from Western Cape Premier Helen Zille.

In March, the opposition leader referred to pupils who leave the Eastern Cape to attend school in the Western Cape as “refugees”.

The tweet read:  “While ECape education collapsed, WC built 30 schools – 22 new, 8 replacement mainly 4 ECape edu refugees. 26 MORE new schools coming. [sic]”

This came in the wake of violent protests in Grabouw about overcrowding at a local school.

According to The Times newspaper, youth activist Lukhona Mnguni asked the SAHRC to advise Zille to retract her statement and apologise.

The commission’s spokesperson Vincent Moaga said the two complaints were lodged in their Gauteng and Western Cape offices.

RIHANNA WANT TO PORTRAY WHITNEY IN A MOVIE!!!

Rihanna and Whitney Houston

Rihanna Wants to Play Whitney Houston in Movie, Ashton Kutcher Portraying Steve Jobs, and Adam Levine’s Role in ‘American Horror Story’

Rihanna Wants to Star in Whitney Houston Movie!!!!!

It hasn’t been long since Whitney Houston fans were surprised by the singer’s death.  But, what isn’t surprising is that rumors of a movie chronicling her life might one day be in the works.  It usually happens when something tragic happens to true icon, right?

While nothing has actually been agreed upon yet, buzz about who might some day take on the role has included such singers as Jennifer Hudson, Jordin Sparks, andBrandy.  There’s even been talk about Californication’s Meagan Good being a, pardon the pun, good candidate.

One singer has made an announcement that she’d love to portray the singer if a movie does eventually happen.

And that singer is Rihanna.

In a recent interview she said that Houston’s music was always played in her home and that “I Will Always Love You” was the first song she remembers as being her favorite.

There’s a little resemblance and she can sing, so she could probably do the job.

Young Buck Says He’s Renegotiating With G-Unit Records!!!!!!

Young Buck Says He’s Renegotiating With G-Unit Records

Young Buck

Young Buck is slowly getting on good terms with G-Unit, which he’s been on the outs with since being booted by 50 Cent in mid-2008.

Over the weekend, the former G-Unit rapper conducted an interview with DJ Whoo Kidon his Shade 45 radio show. During the chat (via phone), he said he’d consider reuniting with the camp if the opportunity arose.

While it’s unlikely that will happened, it seems that time is beginning to heal the bitterness between him and his former camp. It’s unclear if the radio appearance helped the relationship, but in a newly released interview, Buck says he’s finally back on speaking terms and is currently “renegotiating” with the label.

“I’ma be honest with y’all,” began Buck. “I’m in a space right now, where finally, we’re having some kind of negotiations with what I’mma be able to do, as far as the G-Unit situation.”

While the rapper didn’t specific who he’s negotiating with, whether it’s 50 himself or another person at the label, he did say, he’s close to figuring out his future in music.

“I will tell you, the wait is definitely over,” declared the G-Unit exile. “…I don’t want to put a timing on it, but the wait is absolutely over, and we’re just trying to figure out what’s the best situation as far as where I’m gonna go.

“I don’t think I’mma be able to complete the last few albums that I do have on [my G-Unit contract] on G-Unit. But, at the end of the end of the day, it is what it is. The past is the past, and we living in the present,” Buck continued.

AJAX BREAKS A RECORD….

Ajax break losing streak

Posted: Apr 4 2012

Ajax Cape Town scored twice in the last eight minutes to claim a come-from-behind 2-1 win over Jomo Cosmos at Sinaba Stadium on Wednesday night.

The victory for the Urban Warriors broke a three-game losing streak, while Ezenkosi remain rooted to the bottom of the table and will be disappointed at having given away all three points in a game that they looked to be in control of until late on.

Cosmos started with real intent and took the lead after just 11 minutes, with Katleho Loke scoring direct from a free kick 25 yards from goal. Siyabonga Nhlapo had won the set piece for his side, drawing a foul from Thato Mokeke.

Ajax looked for a quick reply, as Khama Billiat tried his hand from long range in the 17th minute – the Zimbabwean caught the shot cleanly, but goalkeeper Avril Phali was able to make a comfortable save.

Cosmos continued to look the more dangerous team in attack in what remained of the first half, though for the most part they were restricted to long range efforts from the likes of Nhlapo and winger Matthew Rusike that failed to trouble Ajax ‘keeper Sander Westerveld.

In the second half Cosmos continued to look like a team in control, though they persisted in trying to beat Westerveld from long range rather than look to patiently build up and try pick a way through Ajax’s defence.

The Cape side made a double change just before the hour mark by introducing Tafadzwa Rusike and George Maluleka – coach Maarten Stekelenburg clearly wanted more creativity and incisiveness in the final third of the field.

Ajax had to wait until the 82nd minute to finally create a clear scoring chance and Billiat duly took advantage, driving home a low shot from 18 yards out to make it 1-1.

Four minutes later it got even better for the visitors, as Billiat turned provider for substitute striker Alcardo van Graan to score from close range and make it 2-1, completing a remarkable and dramatic turnaround for the Urban Warriors.

SWALLOWS THUMPED WITS!!!!!

BY Obakeng Rachwene

Swallows heap pressure on Wits

An own-goal by Mbulelo Mabizela and strikes from David Mathebula and Bennett Chenene helped Moroka Swallows to a 3-0 win over Bidvest Wits at the Dobsonville Stadium on Wednesday night.

Before the supporters had even settled down into their seats, the Birds found the opening goal of the match; Mabizela scoring past his own keeper from six yards out.

Swallows were in confident mood and they made it 2-0 in the fourth minute. Lerato Chabangu crossed in from the right side of penalty area and Mathebula scored with a right-footed shot into the bottom corner.

The Clever Boys seemingly had no answers for Swallows’ early lead and the 15th minute they resorted to shooting from distance when Sibusiso Vilakazi drilled in a right-footed shot from over 35 yards out, but his effort was saved by Greg Etafia.

Swallows soon increased their advantaged and effectively shut the match. Chabangu was once again the provider from the right when he set up Chenene, and the left winger’s shot into the top-left corner made it 3-0 after just 22 minutes.

Ten minutes after the break Swallows captain Lefa Tsutsulupa unleashed a right-footed shot 20 yards from the right side but it went over the bar.

The Birds had the match under control but weren’t resting on their laurels and two minutes later Chabangu had a right-footed attempt from 30-yards out, but it was saved by Emille Baron.

In the 76th minute, Wits had a chance to at least get a consolation goal when Swallows defender Luvhengo Mungomeni was adjudged to have fouled Bradley Ritson in the box; but Etafia saved Sibusiso Vilakazi’s effort.

The match eventually finished with the Birds deservedly winning the contest by 3-0.

ABSA PREMIERSHIP ROUND-UP!!!

Birds stay confident and thump Clever Boys

An own-goal by Mbulelo Mabizela and strikes from David Mathebula and Bennett Chenene handed Moroka Swallows a 3-0 win over Bidvest Wits in Dobsonville. ‘OJ’ scored the opener past his own keeper before the spectators found their seats, and Swallows, in a confident mood, were 3-0 up in 22 minutes.

Downs slip up, Bucs creep up on them

Mamelodi Sundowns slipped up again in their title challenge, drawing 0-0 with Golden Arrows, which means Orlando Pirates now equal them on points, behind Downs only on goal-difference.

Arrows were virtually a no-show, finding it impossible to break through the Brazilian defence, and Sundowns will rue their many missed chances.

Meanwhile, in Durban, on-loan striker Tokelo Rantie netted an early goal to put Bucs in the lead, and they never relinquished it, holding out for a narrow but deserved 1-0 victory over AmaZulu.

Ea Lla Koto take Free State Derby

Free State Stars won the Free State Derby, beating Bloemfontein Celtic 2-1 and moving up to fourth in the process. Saname Wome and Paulus Masehe took Ea Lla Koto 2-0 up and they dominated the first 45. Lennox Bacela netted a consolation goal for Phunya Sele Sele, but Stars defended their lead well and deserved the win.

Dikwena safer, Santos in trouble

Platinum Stars took a couple more steps away from the relegation zone, and Santos a step closer, after Dikwena’s 2-1 win in Cape Town. Erwin Isaacs was red-carded early on for a dangerous tackle, but Eleazar Rodgers got his ninth goal of the season to open the scoring for the People’s Team.

Santos looked dangerous on the counter-attack, and Stars only began to come into the match late on. Vuyo Mere converted a penalty in the 70th minute, and Patrick Malokase got the winner two minutes later. Santos tried to get back into the game but were held out by Stars’ sturdy defence.

No goals for Matsatsantsa – again

SuperSport United stretched their goalless streak to six consecutive League games – over 500 minutes – as they were held to a dull 0-0 draw by Maritzburg United

Urban Warriors fightback for the win against doomed Ezenkosi

Ajax Cape Town were back on form, scoring twice in the last eight minutes to claim a come-from-behind 2-1 win over Jomo Cosmos. The win ends Ajax’s three-match losing streak, while Cosmos, rooted to the bottom of the log, will regret giving away the three points.

Katleho Loke put Ezenkosi ahead on 11 minutes, and they looked fairly in control.

Maarten Stekelenburg made a double change just before the hour mark by introducing Tafadzwa Rusike and George Maluleka – clearly wanting more creativity and incisiveness in the final third of the field – but Ajax had to wait until the 82nd minute to finally create a clear scoring chance. Billiat made it 1-1, and turned provider four minutes later for Alcardo van Graan, in a dramatic turnaround for the Urban Warriors.

LAST NIGHT MATCH RESULTS!!!!

Wednesday night round-up

Posted: 2012-04-05 09:17

Orlando Pirates go equal on points with Mamelodi Sundowns; SuperSport United still can’t find the net; and things look dark for Jomo Cosmos, who gave away a win to Ajax Cape Town.

Apart from Kaizer Chiefs and Black Leopards, who played on Tuesday, there was a full round of fixtures on Wednesday night.

After losing 4-0 to them in the Nedbank Cup at the weekend, Leopards beat Chiefs 1-0 on Tuesday night, with substitute David Zulu getting the winner six minutes from time.

Towering defender Humphrey Khoza ruled the show at FNB Stadium, mopping up everything Chiefs threw at him, and deservedly won Man of the Match.

 Malema mum on…

Malema mum on suspension
Alex Eliseev | 4 Hour(s) Ago

Julius Malema remained quiet following news of his new suspension which saw him stripped of all his power within the African National Congress (ANC).

The embattled African National Congress Youth League (ANCYL) leader was suspended on Wednesday with immediate effect.

He called President Jacob Zuma a “dictator” at an appearance at Wits on Friday.

The terms of the suspension remove his right to attend or address any ANC meeting or gathering.

He may also not speak publicly about the ruling party.

The National Disciplinary Committee’s (NDC) Derek Hanekom said, “We regard it as very serious. We consider these circumstances as serious therefore this immediate temporary suspension is warranted.”

It remains to be seen whether the ANCYL will respect this or stand firm on its promise that all current leaders are here to stay.

Malema will have to step down as ANCYL president and as Provincial Executive Committee member in Limpopo.

Malema will not be able to appeal the decision, which will be in force until his expulsion case is finalised.

The NDC will formulate new charges against Malema within the next month and a new hearing date will be set.

Malema is currently appealing his expulsion for sowing divisions within the ANC.
