Taung- North West arrested 10 suspects in Mokassa II, near Taung after they were linked with Mokassa turmoil.

The tumult happened after the villagers accused Vinolia Sesing of witchcraft. Sesing was removed from Mokgareng village by enraged community members after they said she allegedly turned Boikie Nthutang into a zombie.

The community of Mokassa were up in arms and attack her. She was skewed away by police and admitted at Taung hospital with head injuries. Sesing’s husband alleged ploughed on some residents with his car leaving six people injured. One victim was badly injured and transferred to Klerksdorp.

10 residents were arrested on Sunday and will appear before Taung Magistrate Court.

Colonel Sabata Mokgwabone said a case of attempted murder and assault were launched.

North West premier Supra Mahumapelo urged community to calm down and act swiftly before taking any drastic decision.-TDN
