Another SABC board member resigns

Cape Town – Another SABC board member has resigned, it emerged in a communications portfolio committee meeting in parliament on Tuesday.

Committee chairperson Sikhumbuzo Kholwane said he received a letter informing him of Pippa Green’s resignation.

This effectively leaves only Suzanne Vos and Claire O’Neil on the broadcaster’s board.

Addressing the committee earlier, Communications Minister Dina Pule denied interfering in the operations of the board, an allegation made by one of the nine board members who resigned over the past few days.

“If I had interfered, some of the things at the board would not have happened… I wish I had interfered,” said Pule.

She pleaded with the MPs to ensure the SABC had a functional board soon.

The committee is likely to move to dissolve the board and appoint an interim five-member board.

Currently the board would not be able to meet and approve key decisions at the broadcaster,m because it would not constitute a quorum-Sapa.

Our crew is chatting one of the finest Djs, not only in the province…but in Mzansi. Dj Qulo was born and bred in the Pudimoe, the outskirt of Taung in North West. He started to spin the disc back in 2007 and he never looked back. 
 
Dj Qulo gather hopes of become one of the bets DIsc Jockers and is aiming for the greater heights.
“I believe one day i will receive the recognition and i am aiming for the stars. Since i started spinning the disc when i was young” Qulo said.
 
The Club Dj is an All Rounder, he is a resident Dj at Motimalenyora Tarven(Pudimoe) and a mix Dj at Vaaltar Community Radio Station every Monday during Youth Connection Show.
Qulo says passion and deternmination kept him going even though he had his fair share of the trials and tribulations of this world.
“I will say my passion has see me through and i was always determined. If you have a dream, never ever look back. Just keep on pushing and eventually you will succeed. I started to deejaying back in 2007 and my partner in crime was Dj Ready C and met Notorious Dj (Vaaltar Fm) in 2010” Qulo said.
He is inspired by the likes of Dj Shimza (YFM) Da Capo, Culo De Song and the list is endless.
We asked him as a Dj, how you determine what you playing to the crowd if is good and he responded.
 
“As a Dj you must always respect and love you audience.
You do not have to play for yourself. Remember your respond from the crowd determine if what you doing is good or not. It is very nice when there is that coherency between you and the crowd”he said
