The Director of Kids Sportswear (PTY) LTD, Tokelo Mareka Lehloka (40), and his company were found guilty of failure to submit a Corporate Income Tax return by the Kimberley Specialised Commercial Crimes Court.
The Hawks spokesperson in Northern Cape, Lieutenant Col Tebogo Thebe said the case is related to the Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) tender. Thebe said the tender TO THE AMOUNT OF R33 580, was awarded by the Northern Cape Cooperative Governance, Human Settlement and Traditional Affairs (COGHSTA).
“Lehloka as the director, failed to submit 2020 Corporate Income Tax return (CIT) as required by Section 25 of Tax Administration Act 28 of 2011. He pleaded guilty, resulting in the Kids Sportswear (PTY) LTD company being fined R5000, which was wholly suspended.
“Lehloka was also fined R5000 or 60 days imprisonment, which was wholly suspended for three years on condition that he is not found guilty of tax crimes committed during the time of suspension,” he said.
