Taung-The community of Choseng village, near Taung are up in arms after they accused their councillor of discrepancies after more than 596 toilets were allegedly allocated to them.

According to community members, they requested toilets from the provincial government and the Office of Premier ordered a committe to come and list all those who need toilets.

More than 596 toilets were allegedly given to the community of Choseng, but to their suprise other toilets were given to their neighbours, Matlapaneng village.

The community barricaded roads with burning tyres and tree branches to show their unhappiness.

They claim councillor Kedumetse Tyalimpi never explains the situation to them and has no right to take their toilets and hand it over to Matlapaneng community instead.

However councillor Tyalimpi refutes the claims and said the decision was not taken by her, but the agreement was reached during meeting with IDP and municipality.

“The decision was not made by me. We received more than 640 toilets and according to my knowledge, they were allocated to all various villages in my ward” said Tyalimpi.

Councillor said she was called by Premier’s Office representatives and discussed the matter with them.

“I personally went to the communities and listed all those who need toilets. I wrote more than 200 people and submitted the list” she said.

The community said councillor is a liar and they are not suprised by her illogical action.

“The community went to the premier to asked for toilets, and afterwards councillor took those toilets and give them to her friends” said one of community member who wanted to remain anonymous for fear of reprisal.

Some said they will never ever budge until they get want belongs to them and demise councillor Kedumetse Tyalimpi for her lack of compatibility.-TDN
