Galeshewe – Police are investigating a case of murder after a 17-year-old boy stabbed to death on Sunday at around 12:40. The incident happened in front of his parent’s house in Itumeleng Street, Northern Cape police said.
“It is alleged that the deceased had an argument of some sort with the suspect; the details of the argument are sketchy at this stage. The argument became heated and a family member of the deceased tried to intervene, but her intervention was not sufficient to spare the life of the deceased” lieutenant Olebogeng Tawana said.
The suspect only known as “Fire” drew up a knife and allegedly stabbed the deceased twice in the chest and once in the face.
“After being stabbed he tried to run to save his life, but it was too little too late and died due to the ruthlessness of the stab wounds he had sustained” Tawana said.
A 16-year-old boy whom is the suspect fled the scene after the incident, but he was shortly arrested at his friend’s house in Kabelo Makaudi Street.
He will be appearing before the Galeshewe Magistrate’s Court soon.-TDN
