Unathi Nkayi returns as the host for 2024 Basadi in Music Awards 2024

Renowned South African music industry icon, broadcaster and musician, Unathi Nkayi, takes centre stage as the vibrant host of the upcoming Basadi in Music Awards. With her infectious energy and dynamic presence, Nkayi promises an unforgettable evening, building on her successful hosting performance in 2023. 

Beyond her television prowess, Nkayi’s career spans diverse media platforms, including notable broadcasting and music production achievements. From her global musical impact with songs like Sgubhu, featured in the Academy Award-winning film Tsotsi, to her ground-breaking role as the first African voice actor in Disney’s Doc McStuffins, Nkayi’s influence resonates far and wide.

Nkayi’s journey is a testament to her indomitable spirit and creative brilliance, earning her accolades from the Metro FM Music Awards to recognition as one of the Top Ten People in Media by The Star Newspaper. Notably, she was lauded as the most promising woman in media at the 2005 MTN Media Awards, solidifying her position as a trailblazer in South African entertainment.

Basadi in Music Awards (BIMA) is thrilled to announce that tickets are officially on sale for the highly anticipated ceremony on 10 August 2024, which will celebrate Women’s Month. This year promises to be a dazzling affair.
