Klerksdorp street kid killed in a scuffle over food

Klerksdorp- Police are investigating a case of murder after a 15-year-old street kid only known as Thabang was murdered on Tuesday, at about 22:17 at an open space at Magritta Prinsloo street near the Traffic Department in Klerksdorp.

 

North West police spokesperson, sergeant KelebogilebMoleko said according to the information they eceived, there were  five boys (street kids) between  the ages of 13 and 19  who waited for the soft porridge that  was prepared by the victim.  It is  alleged that the suspect demanded the soft porridge and an argument ensued between the boys and one of them  gave the suspect the knife and he stabbed the victim on the neck.  

“Allegations further states  that the victim fell down, bled heavily and the two suspects fled the scene.   One of the boys ran to Klerksdorp hospital which was not far from the scene to request  for medical assistance for the victim,” Moleko said.

 

The Emergency Medical Services attended to the scene and the victim was certified dead.

She said the suspect is still at large and the police appeals to anyone who can assist with information which can lead to the arrest of the suspect and also in locating the family members of the deceased to contact the Klerksdorp police station on 018 464 5061.
