A man was injured following an accident on Hendrik Potgieter Street near Marula Street in Dowerglen, Edenvale this evening.

Netcare 911 paramedics arrived at the scene and found a twenty-three-year-old motorcyclist lying on the roadway.

“Upon assessment of the man, paramedics found that he was in a critical condition. The Netcare1 helicopter was activated to airlift the critically injured man to hospital for the urgent medical care that he required,” Netcare 911 spokesperson Santi Steinmann said.

Exact detail surrounding the cause of the accident and preceding events are still unknown and will remain the subject of a police investigation.
