Kimberley- A 38 year-old man has been arrested after he allegedly killed a pedestrian on Saturday in Pniel road, near Kimberley.
Lieutenant Donald Mdhluli said a 38 year-old driver did not stop after he knocked down a pedestrian.
“The victim was allegedly taken to local hospital after he suffered bodily injuries where he later died” Mdhluli said.
Police said a manhunt was launched and a 38 year-old driver was arrested on Monday after hit and run.
“The suspect is facing five counts of charges i.e. murder, reckless and negligent driving, culpable homicide, premature leaving of crime scene, as well as failing to observe injuries” he said.
He is set to appear before the Kimberley Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday.
