Mmabatho-A sangoma and his co-accused were granted bail of R1000 each at Mmabatho Magistrate Court today. The two were arrested by North West police on Friday for grave desecration.
Koketse Jabane,54 who is a sangoma and Rapelang Modise appeared before magistrate for grave violation allegations.
“Police were patrolling Moletsamongwe cemetery area when they saw two people leaving the graveyard. They stopped and search them” Captain Amanda Funani said.
“Jabane and Modise were arrested after the remains of a human being were found in their possession. They appeared briefly at Mmabatho Magistrate Court for grave desecration and were granted a R1000 bail each” She said.
According to information we received, the grave of Sipho Lolwane who was an albino was not for the first time being tempered with. Police registered another incident back in 2002, but no one was arrested.
“The grave of Lolwane was tempered with before,so police are still trying to link two cases. The two suspects will be back in court on the 07 of December” she continues.
The case will resume back on the 07 of December and investigations continue.
