Hoedspruit – A man who allegedly left a rape victim tied to a tree naked appeared in the Hoedspruit Magistrate’s Court on Thursday, Limpopo police said.

Lt-Col Malesela Ledwaba said the 33-year-old, charged with rape and robbery, would remain in custody until his next appearance on August 2.

“He is accused of raping a 25-year-old woman in Giyani last month after offering her a lift.”

He allegedly tied the naked woman to a tree before making off with her handbag and cellphone. – Sapa
