Mpumalanga commuters have welcomed 50 unroadworthy buses being taken off the road. But they’re frustrated at the lack of alternative transport. Many of the buses impounded yesterday, have not been released. Putco must first pay fines issued for all of them.

Leakages, worn tyres, exposed wiring and dysfunctional gears is what led to the buses being taken off the road. Commuters say they have no alternatives to get around.and at times fear for their lives.
