The North West Department of Health will on Friday, hold its very first graduation ceremony under the newly amalgamated North West College of Nursing. 

North West College of Nursing comprises of two government nursing colleges based in Mahikeng and Klerksdorp, and it is tasked with training and producing nurses for the public health facilities in the province. 

A total of 449 nurses will be graduating from various nurse-training programmes which were offered by the Provincial Department of Health under the North West College of Nursing.

With 449 students who will be graduating as professional nurses, it is expected that they will assist in decreasing shortage of health professionals in the province particularly in the rural communities.
