A 21 year-old man was bludgeoned to death at a tavern on Saturday at Morokweng village, near Taung and the suspect is at large, North West police said.
North West police spokesperson colonel Emelda Setlhako said a 21 year-old man was at a local tavern in Morokweng when an argument ensued between him and the suspect. She said Obakeng Gause(21) was allegedly bludgeoned by a suspect with an unknown object in a fight.
“Police in Taung have launched a murder case after a 21 year-old man was killed at a local tavern in Morokweng village, near Taung. The cause of the fight between two men was unknown and according to information, it is alleged that the two where involved in a heated argument that precipitated to a fight” Setlhako said.
She said the suspect allegedly stabbed the victim with an unknown object in his chest and the victim was certified dead by paramedics.
“The suspect allegedly fled the crime scene afterwards and no one has been arrested so far. Taung police request anyone with information that could lead to the arrest of the suspect to come forward. A case of murder has been launched in Taung Police Station and investigation continues” Setlhako concludes.
