The North West police arrested a total of 665 suspects through various day to day operations in the past seven days between 16 and 23 March 2014 for Contact, Contact related, Property related and other crimes.

The arrests include 4 for Murder, 22 for Rape,155 for Common Assault as well as Assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm, 5 for fraud, 21 for shoplifting, 64 for driving under the influence of liquor and many other crimes.  Eleven (11) undocumented persons were also arrested.   

“The following were also seized during operations: 8 vehicles, 12 cell phones, various types of drugs and  illegal cigarettes” sergean Kealeboga Molale said.

Molale said most of the suspects have already appeared in various courts while others are expected to appear Monday.-TDN
