Mahikeng- As a result of the North West Provincial Government intervention in the Ngaka Modiri Molema District Municipality, there is a looming threat that essential services around the district might be cut by those who are not in support of the progressive intervention by the provincial government.
Following the threats, the department has also established a Joint Operation Centre to deal with any threats and anarchy that might arise.
MEC for the department Collen Maine said: “The department and the police are working tirelessly around the clock to ensure the safety of our people. Some departmental and police officials have been deployed in key strategic areas to ensure that the essential services continue uninterrupted and that no life threatening situation erupt”.
“We urge our community members to remain calm as the situation is being monitored day and night and that we continue to keep our eyes and ears on the ground. If community members suspects anything or want to report any misdemeanor can contact our call centre that is operating 24/7 at 018 388 3888” concluded MEC Maine.
