Five Mozambican Nationals  who were travelling on N18 road from Mahikeng between Mareetsane and Setlagole were involved in a car accident on   Saturday, 07 July 2012 at about 10:00 in the morning.

 It is alleged that a driver of a Toyota  Hilux which was transporting tombstones and cement from Rustenburg to Kraaipan lost control when his vehicle had a mechanical problem.

The car rolled and caught fire. One  passenger  aged between 25 and 30 was trapped and burnt to death inside the vehicle.

“The driver did not sustain any injuries, two other passengers had minor injuries and were treated on the scene. One passenger sustained serious injuries and was taken to Mahikeng Provincial Hospital for treatment” Brigadier Thulani Ngubane said.

A case of Culpable homicide was registered and investigation continues.
